Hospital friends get by with a lot of help from Wilson Street

GET-TOGETHER: Wilson Street residents were in the party mood

RESIDENTS of Wilson Street, in Barnard Castle, joined together in an organised jubilee street party to eat, drink and entertain, as well as raise funds for the Friends of Richardson Hospital. As well as a “name the royal bear” contest and a jubilee quiz, residents came together to sing the national anthem, accompanied on guitar by neighbour Lewis Porter. Organisers Christine Thistlethwaite and Linda Eilbeck felt it was a great occasion to celebrate and a chance to get the community together. Some £250 was raised for the Friends hospital group.
