Grounds of The Bowes Museum will reopen to pedestrians this weekend

REOPENING: The grounds of The Bowes Museum will be open from this weekend

THE grounds of The Bowes Museum are to reopen to the public this weekend.

Responding to correspondence in the Mercury, marketing manager Rachael Fletcher said: “We’d like to reassure everyone that the grounds of The Bowes Museum will once again be open from this weekend, to be enjoyed by walkers and cyclists, in line with the latest government guidance on COVID-19.

“The parkland can be accessed through the pedestrian gates between 10.30am and 4.45pm daily.

“We want to thank everyone for their continued support and understanding, and ask people to respect social distancing guidelines when they visit.”

Ms Fletchers said the grounds would be open to pedestrians only to start with from Saturday, then hopefully if all goes to plan vehicles will be permitted in the near future.
