IT’S fingers crossed for the organisers of a popular dale music event that the lockdown will be lifted by the autumn.
Like other promoters, Sue and Steve Brown, who help run Mickleton Live, at Mickleton Village Hall, have been busy rescheduling dates following the coronavirus outbreak.
A visit by top Thin Lizzy tribute band Limehouse Lizzy was called off just days after restrictions were imposed.
And the visit of guitar legend Albert Lee – always one of the most popular dates in the calendar – has now been rescheduled for May 15 next year.
“The next gig will be Voodoo Room. They are coming on September 5 and after them it’s Holy Moly and the crackers in October, although the date isn’t set in stone,” said Ms Brown.
“We are talking to Limehouse Lizzy to get another date for later this year if possible – it’s all a bit up in the air until we know how thing pan out.
“We do hope to get up and running as soon as possible as the music club and other events that take place at the village hall, are what pays the bills to keep the village hall running.
“It is just the same as other halls. We are not supported by the council anymore, it’s all about fundraising and chasing grants.
