Durham & North East Cricket League Division Two Evenwood v Bill Quay

Adam Irving ripped through the Bill Quay batting, taking 5-36 as the visitors were skittled for just 79.

He was ably assisted by Thomas Teesdale, who took 3-31 and then smashed 44 off 23 balls as Evenwood won by nine wickets in 7.3 overs.

The win all but guarantees Evenwood Division One cricket next season.

They need just four points from the remaining two fixtures to secure promotion.

Bill Quay 79 all out (26.3 overs) lost to Evenwood 84-1 (7.3 overs) by 9 wickets.

Division Six Tantobie v Evenwood II

Daniel Mosley took 5-22 for Evenwood Seconds as Tantobie were bowled out for 126.

Opener Anthony Hunter scored 61. Evenwood struggled to get their chase up and running, losing their top four cheaply before Mosley (41), Matthew Baldock (31 not out) and Jesse Hammond (12 not out) got the job done.

Tantobie 126 all out (29 overs) lost to Evenwood 130-5 (24.1 overs) by 5 wickets.

Vinton Trophy, semi-final Evenwood v Horden at Mainsforth CC

Luke Bannister top scored with 34 as Evenwood set Horden 116 to win in their Vinton Trophy semi on Sunday.

It was a total Horden got nowhere near as their entire top seven were dismissed for ducks. In fact, their second top scorer was extras with five. Thomas Teesdale took 5-8 and Adam Irving claimed 3-4.

The final between Evenwood and Mainsforth had to be abandoned due to the weather. Mainsforth completed their 20 overs, scoring 84-7, but the weather intervened before Evenwood could bat.

A new date has yet to be confirmed for the re-match.

Evenwood 115-9 (20 overs) bt Horden 13 all out (9.1 overs) by 102 runs.

Durham Cricket Board Junior League U13 Bowl competition Evenwood U13 v Castle Eden U13

Evenwood won the U13 Bowl, beating Castle Eden in the final.

Coach Jeff Bannister praised his team and their supporters, saying: “Thank you to everyone who helped and supported the U13s team.

“It was an excellent win and another brilliant team effort, well done to all the players who took part.

“They all have put in a lot of practice and it has paid off for them tonight. I am so proud of what they have achieved and how all the players have improved this season.”

Evenwood 124-2 (20 overs) bt Castle Eden 86 all out (15.1 overs) by 38 runs.

Darlington & District Cricket League Division A Aldbrough St John v Spennymoor

Spennymoor were restricted to 112 at Aldbrough with Max Riley-Fox taking 3-25 and Tom Wilson three wickets without conceding a run!

Riley-Fox also scored 36 while Michael Fleming (29) and Matthew Hodgson (30) saw their side home to complete a nine-wicket win.

Spenny 112 all out (39.4 overs) lost to ASJ 114-1 (11 overs) by 9 wickets.

Barningham v Cliffe

Sam Quallis (96) fell just four short of a deserved century as Barningham piled on the runs against Cliffe.

Quallis then took his frustration out on the opposition batsmen taking 4-12 off seven overs while Joe Blackburn claimed 5-35 as Cliffe were dismissed for just 52 inside 15 overs.

Barningham 257-8 (40 overs) bt Cliffe 52 all out (14.4 overs) by 205 runs.

Raby Castle v Cockerton

Leaders Raby maintained their title challenge with an emphatic win over Cockerton, who were bowled out for 83.

James Forster took 4-26 while Joe Beadle claimed 3-16 and Thomas Webb 2-19. Raby needed just 73 balls to knock the runs off with Matt Dent finishing 44 not out and Forster smashing 21 off 12 balls.

Cockerton 83 all out (29.4 overs) lost to Raby Castle 84-1 (12.1 overs) by 9 wickets.

Division B Cliffe II v Northallerton IV

Cliffe Seconds piled on the runs against Northallerton Fourths then declared, giving themselves time to bowl out the opposition before the weather could intervene.

Will Challoner top scored with 67 after openers Ben Wilson (36) and Rich Mallender (39) got the innings off to a solid start. Mallender also took 2-12 and Charles Holt took 2-14 off 10 overs as Northallerton were bowled out for 94.

Cliffe Seconds 223-6 dec (33 overs) bt Northallerton Fourths 94 all out (31.1 overs).

Etherley v Raby Castle II

Raby Seconds edged a high-scoring encounter. Etherley batted first and scored 213-9 with Annabelle Tiplady taking 3-41. Raby knocked off the runs with two overs to spare. Captain and opener Robert Kirkup top scored with 41.

Etherley 213-9 (40 overs) lost to Raby Seconds 214-8 (38 overs) by 2 wickets.
