Dale duo join forces once again for annual Richmond exhibition

ON SHOW: Suzanne Tweddle's work is on show in Richmond's The Station venue along with that of Victoria Bellas-Carter

A PAIR of dale artists are showcasing their latest work during a spring exhibition which is currently being staged.

Victoria Bellas-Carter, from Staindrop, and Suzanne Tweddle, from Barnard Castle, began holding joint annual exhibitions at Richmond’s The Station after meeting at a toddler group.

Based at a studio at Eggleston Hall Gardens, Ms Bellas-Carter is renowned for her colourful tissue collages of flowers and meadows, drawing inspiration from Teesdale’s scenery and landscapes.

Among the items she is exhibiting are new original artworks, limited and open edition prints and a range of bespoke products including coasters, placemats, china mugs, greeting cards, sketchbooks and journals. The exhibition is the first glimpse of her 2019 collection.

Ms Tweddle uses a lampworking technique to produce fine jewellery.

She said: “Lampworking is a technique that enables me to design and individually make beautiful beads with intricate detail, making each bead unique. Colour is what motivates my designs, from the brightest oranges to the coolest blues. The combinations evolve through experimentation reflected in nature, fabrics and fashion.”

The jewellery artist also offers tuition in the technique from her studio in Barnard Castle.

The exhibition runs until Wednesday, April 3.
