GREAT BACKING: The Back the Back walkers at The Tees'pot during their visit to Middleton-in-Teesdale

MIDDLETON WALKERS ARE WELCOME

TWO Middleton-in-Teesdale Walkers are Welcome businesses gave a warm dale welcome and their generous support to Freya and her ‘Back the Back walkers’.

Freya was diagnosed with scoliosis, the abnormal curvature of the spine, when she was 11 years old and is walking the full 268 miles of the Pennine Way, the ‘Backbone of Britain’, this summer to raise awareness of scoliosis and raise funds for charities that support research and patients.

On Wednesday they reached Middleton where the Teesdale Hotel provided overnight accommodation and “probably the best full English breakfast all week, and served early especially for us” and the Tees’pot helped them on their way with “delicious lunches, and some of the best millionnaire shortbread I have ever had!”

Good luck and fine weather to Freya and her team for the rest of the walk.

There is still time to sponsor them by going backthebackwalk.org/ .
