60-year-old man dies after crash

A man has died following a collision between Woodland, Hamsterley and Morley.

Emergency services were called to the collision involving a van and a tractor in Crane Row Lane, just before 6.15pm yesterday, Wednesday, September 23.

A police spokesman said: “Despite the best efforts of those on scene, the 60-year-old passenger of the van was declared dead at the scene.

“His family have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.

“The road was closed for several hours whilst officers from Forensic Collision Investigation Unit began their investigation.

“Officers would like to speak to any witnesses, or those who may have dashcam footage of the vehicles leading up to the collision.”
