Vets consult by phone to ensure pet health

ANIMAL CARE: Vets are still looking after dale pets despite coronavirus lockdown

MEASURES to ensure pets across Teesdale can still access health care during the coronavirus lockdown have been put in place by Castle Vets, in Barnard Castle.
Although some of their popular, regular activities have been cancelled for the foreseeable future, access to treatments for pets will continue. To minimise the risk to both staff, pets and their owners, anyone concerned about their animal’s health can arrange a telephone consultation.
A spokesperson for Castle Vets said: “If you do have any concerns, we can arrange a telephone consultation.
“If you need to visit us to collect flea and worming treatments or repeat medications, please call us first as we may be able to post these to you or arrange a safe collection.
“If you are invited to visit one of our vets for an appointment we will maintain social distancing of two metres and arrange to collect your pet from you outside of our premises. Pet owners will be asked to remain outside the premises.
“Rest assured, we’re here to help, please call us for advice or a tele-consultation.”
Castle Vets can be contacted on 01833 637 700.
