VOLUNTEERS are being sought to help look after nature and the landscape in the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and UNESCO Global Geopark.
Helpers are needed for everything from litter picking to habitat creation.
Simon Wilson, business manager with the North Pennines AONB Partnership, said: “We have a strong team of existing volunteers already and this is a great opportunity for people to get out and about, learn about our countryside, meet new people and have some fun.
“We will seek to match people with a range of worthwhile and rewarding activities.”
The team is currently hoping to attract people to help look after popular paths such as the Pennine Way National Trail and other countryside areas in the Teesdale part of the AONB.
Work on these paths has been supported by the Teesdale Area Action Partnership, Pennine National Trails Partnership and North Pennines AONB Partnership.
There are also opportunities to help nature recovery and engagement projects.
People local to upper Teesdale can also help with various tasks to look after the new wildflower and tree nursery at Bowlees Visitor Centre.
