Discounts to hook ‘Blue Light’ anglers

Discounts to hook ‘Blue Light’ anglers

OFFER: Northumbrian Water is offering discounts on angling at Grassholme from next spring

ANGLERS working for the emergency services will be able to enjoy a discounted day out when Grassholme reopens for fishing next spring.
Northumbrian Water is giving anglers holding Blue Light cards a ten per cent discount on the cost of boat hire, fishing permits and tackle across the company’s angling sites.
Blue Light cards offer discounts for anyone working in the emergency services, NHS, social care sector and the armed forces community.
Members of these groups not carrying a Blue Light card will be able to take advantage of the savings by presenting official ID cards from their employers at the sites.
The discounts do not apply to the purchase of any vouchers or online bookings.
Don Coe, Northumbrian Water’s waterside parks operations manager, said: “For those who enjoy angling, there are few better ways to relax, so we want to help reduce some of the cost of that experience for Blue Light card holders and their colleagues by opening up these discounts.
“The angling season remains open at some of our sites throughout the year, so there is still plenty of time to enjoy the discounts and they will continue to apply across our sites into 2021 and beyond.”
