TICKETS have gone on sale this month for two gigs at The Witham, in Barnard Castle, next year featuring big named stars from the music scene whose appeal is just as strong now as when they started.
The Manfreds, featuring original Manfred Mann members Paul Jones and Tom McGuiness, will be appearing as part of their 60th anniversary tour celebrations on Thursday, March 14.
Considered one of the finest and most respected bands from the sixties era, their numerous hits including Mighty Quinn and Do Wah Diddy Diddy are some of the most popular and recognisable songs.
Then on Friday May 10, pop duo Hue and Cry will be performing tracks from their 40-year catalogue.
Formed by brothers Patrick and Gregory Kane in the early eighties they made a big impact on the music scene in the eighties and nineties releasing albums including Seduced and Abandoned and Remote and have sold more than two million records worldwide.
After pursuing solo careers in the late nineties, Hue and Cry reformed the band in 2005 and began showcasing new tracks to critical acclaim.
Since then, they have released a further six albums, touring to sell-out crowds and will be performing at Barney’s arts centre on Friday, May 10, at 7.30pm.
Tickets cost £24 and are on sale now through the box office.
