Teesdale Summer Pool League champions crowned
The play-off final to decide who would be crowned champions of Teesdale Summer Pool League, sponsored by Ace Taxis, was held at the Moorcock Inn, Eggleston, on Thursday, September 24.
The final was an all Moorcock Inn affair between their A and B teams, who had defeated the Cricketer’s Arms, Barnard Castle 5-0 and Glaxo Sports & Social Club, Barnard Castle, 5-4, in their respective play-off semi-finals.
The Moorcock B caught their counterparts napping as they stormed out of the blocks and into a 4-0 lead with wins by Graeme Hunter, Jason Hall, Colling Morris, and Peter Gash, over Steven Bell, Tom Moore, Graeme Douglas, and Neil Edmundson respectively.

The Moorcock A then rallied and responded to cut the deficit to 4-2 with Tom Moore and Tom Heys beating Jason Hall and Steve Brown respectively.
The A team’s comeback was then halted by the B team’s Colling Morris, who saw off Neil Edmundson, to clinch the frame they needed for victory.
The A team’s Steven Bell then added a consolation win against Peter Gash to make the final score 5-3 to the Moorcock B, who claimed the title after being runners-up for the past two seasons.
