After beating Great Ayton U13s Barnard Castle U13s qualified for the play off final against Richmondshire Hurricanes on September 3. It’s a rivalry between the two clubs that is felt throughout all age groups up to the 1st XI. Barney’s youngsters were able to comfortably get the better of their North Yorkshire counterparts to be crowned Under 13’s champions.

Leo Rokk, Jake Goodhart and Toby Rutherford all shone with the ball, as they took three wickets each.

In reply, Barney looked comfortable and chased down the target of 77 in just 14.4 overs. Openers Goodhart and Rory Metcalf broke the back of the chase, reaching 55 before losing a wicket. They eased to success and came away convincing winners.

This result crowned Barnard Castle overall NYACC U13 champions and it rounded off a successful season for the junior section. They will look to continue with their progression next season.
