Trashion returns to TCR Hub

Trashion night is back at TCR Hub – and it promises to be an evening celebrating youth in Teesdale.

The event has run every year since 2013. Back then, it was a simple fashion show that would upcycle and repurpose unwanted clothes and accessories.

That’s still at the core, but as TCR youth manager Kelly Ewing explained, there’s much more to it today.

“It’s a massive celebration of youth in Teesdale,” she said. “Throughout the year our Trashion Club has been working with a home ed group and our own youth group.

“They have a partnership with Butterwick Hospice charity shop in Barney, who give us clothes that would otherwise be going to landfill.

“Then we have a group of young people supplying food – we expect to cater for 100 people if we sell all the tickets.

“Another youth group does the music tech and lighting, and we have groups performing with singers throughout the night, Get Set drums and a youth samba band coming to perform.

“And we have Melanie’s dance group who practice here, as well as our youth open mic slots.

“We celebrate our groups and getting other people involved, trying to bring together all of the different things we do here at the hub.”

Trashion Show 2026 is on Friday, July 17 at TCR Hub.

Tickets are £10 for adults, £7 for under-10s and can be purchased from the hub or online at tcrhub.co.uk/whats-on/.
