Teesdale Business Awards are now open

BUSINESS AWARDS: Gail Coll and Lynn Todhunter with two of the trophies

NOMINATIONS for the Biennial Teesdale Business Awards (TBA) are now open.
The aim of the awards is to celebrate and showcase the successes of Teesdale businesses, social enterprises and business people. The event is organised by Enterprise House in Barnard Castle.
Organiser of the awards Gail Coll said: “A new year has brought new challenges for businesses all over the country.
“Our forthcoming Teesdale Business Awards will once again showcase the fantastic work that has been done in Teesdale. Our high streets are alive again following the pandemic and business centres are very active, with long established organisations and exciting new ventures working side by side.
“A key aspect of business life in Teesdale is the sense of a work-life balance alongside support for the whole community.
“Our local area is full of incredibly talented and entrepreneurial people, who have all contributed to making the awards such an enormous privilege to be part of.”
“If there is any individual or any company who you feel deserves recognition, please nominate them for one of the awards.”
People can nominate an individual or a company for more than one award. All awards are independent of any particular industry sector and are open to any size of business, including sole traders. This year there is a new category – equality, diversity and inclusion.
The ceremony will be held at The Witham on Thursday, November 23. Early bird tickets priced £10 will be available online from the TBA website, or in person/by telephone from The Witham Box Office in mid June.
Organisations and individuals can be nominated at teesdalebusinessawards.co.uk
Nominations close at noon on Friday, July 28.
The award categories are: Apprentice of the Year, sponsored by Teesdale Renewables; Entrepreneur of the Year, sponsored by Tilly, Bailey & Irvine Law Firm; Social Responsibility, sponsored by The Greenfields; Best Community Engagement, sponsored by Raby Castle; Most Innovative Business, sponsored by Howell Media; Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, sponsored by GSK; Best Business Trading Outside Teesdale, sponsored by Technimark; Growth Business of the Year, sponsored by Business Durham best Customer Focus, sponsored by Towergate Insurance; Best Social Enterprise, sponsored by Barnard Castle School; Best New Business, sponsored by Blossom Home Care; Best Business, sponsored by Teesdale Cheesemakers Ltd.
