STAFF and pupils at St Mary’s Primary School, in Barnard Castle, were dressed to impress when they celebrated the Queen’s jubilee.
Their afternoon was filled with activities – and no small amount of cake – shared with parents and grandparents, who had helped to create a small exhibition of memorabilia from previous royal landmarks.
Craft activities included making crowns for the younger children, while the older pupils got their hands dirty mixing cement to make stepping stones for the school garden.
The children were also hard at work in the garden planting a jubilee rose.
After working up an appetite everyone was invited to join in an afternoon tea, complete with special red, white and blue cake.
