PROJECT HELP: Peter Harding with Rachel Dyne

A RETIRED gas engineer and Barnard Castle Rotarian is to taking part in a sponsored walk of St Cuthbert’s Way to help the homeless.

Peter Harding will tackle the 62-mile trail between Melrose, in the Scottish Borders, and Lindisfarne, off the coast of Northumberland, between July 27 and August 3.

Mr Harding, who has previously completed long-distance walks on behalf of a number of charities, including Shelter and the Royal National Mission to Deep Sea Fishermen, said: “The YMCA in Barnard Castle does an amazing amount of work for young people which often goes unrecognised.
