Models go Gothic for cancer charity

GLORIOUS GOTHIC: A Gothic-themed charity fashion show organised by Jules Deehan

A GOTHIC-themed charity fashion show was declared an “overwhelming success” by the organiser who has already pencilled in another event for the spring.
There was standing room only at the fashion show at St Mary’s Parish Hall, in Barnard Castle, on October 29, when 15 models strutted their stuff on the catwalk in outfits put together from items donated to the Marie Curie charity shop. The event, organised by manager of the town’s Marie Curie Cancer Care charity shop Jules Deehan, raised £1,190 through tickets and sales on the evening. Additional funds were raised through the sale of the clothes that featured in the show the following day at the shop.
Ms Deehan said: “It was an incredible night. There was a great atmosphere and it was standing room only as people just kept turning up at the door. It was a huge success thanks to all the support from businesses and independent shops who helped make it such a success.
“On the night people were asking when we’re going to hold the next one and I’m thinking about sometime in the spring to allow us time to put it together.”
