Man arrested after paedophile hunters’ sting operation

A MAN has been arrested following a sting operation by a group of vigilante “paedophile hunters”.

Durham Police confirmed today they were called to the public car park in Barnard Castle town centre, at about 11.05am, on Monday, December 31, where they took a man into custody.

The suspect, in his 50s, was arrested on suspicion of attempting to incite a child to engage in sexual activity.

He has since been released under investigation.
