A PRIMARY school has received a handy donation.
During recent weeks, Woodland Primary School has been taking steps to ensure that the school can keep both children and staff safe when it reopens. But staff were struggling to find supplies of hand sanitiser for use in the school. Office manager Katrina Scanlon approaced Pete Horrocks, a pharmacist and parent of children at the school. M&M Pharmacy, in Bishop Auckland, has now donated hand sanitiser to the school as part of its Good2Great initiative. The initiative allows employees to request support or donations for local causes. Mr Horrocks, superintendent pharmacist at the business, said: “I am delighted that through our pharmacy and wholesale depot, we have been able to source and donate this to the school. Woodland is a small rural school and we are delighted to support the local community in tackling some of the challenges Covid-19 brings us.”
Clare Carr, headteacher, said: “We are all working hard to make sure that we can reopen for more children as soon and as safely as possible. We really appreciate the support from Pete.”
