Fairytale end to school year for Montalbo kids

LOOKING THE PART: Children from Montalbo School

THERE was a host of fairytale characters at Glaxo Sports and Social Club when children from Montalbo School, in Barnard Castle, performed their summer production of Goldielox and the Porridge Bowl. Based on the traditional bedtime story, the musical has a slight twist as it was set in a diner.

In addition to Goldielox, played by Summer Dodds and Phoebe Franklin, there were a range of characters including Little Miss Muffet, Humpty Dumpty, Mother Hubbard, Gingerbread Man as well as a host of others including lumberjacks, the Boys in Blue policemen and Marigold the pantomime cow.

Teacher Jessica Richardson, who chose the play, said: “We had a lot of children who are good at drama and I thought it was an excellent play for them to get into.”
