Cash given to aid homeless project

Andrew Tait

BARNARD Castle Rotary held a fundraising event at the Morritt Hotel, in Greta Bridge, where more than £700 was raised to assist Teesdale YMCA homelessness projects.

Colin Dunnighan, president of Barnard Castle Rotary, thanked all those who supported the initiative, as well as Emma Fisk’s critically acclaimed Hot Club du Nord for their spirited renditions of hot club/gypsy jazz and auctioneer Simon Nixon, of Addisons, for his time, skill and talent in the fundraising auction.

Mr Dunnighan said: “Whenever we can, we help our local community and the work of Teesdale YMCA in supporting young people through difficult periods of their lives is to be applauded
