At Your Service: Town cafes offer take-away service as virus restrictions are relaxed

AT YOUR SERVICE: Above

TWO of Barnard Castle’s cafes have re-opened after the government relaxed lockdown restrictions last week.
No 3, in Galgate, and the nearby Madhatter Kitchen and Tea Room are offerin g a take-away service to customers.
Both popular venues closed the day the coronarivus restrictions were introduced in March.
Roger Cruddas, who runs No 3, said he was unable to open sooner due to the lack of potential customers during the lockdown.
He is offering a full menu and open 8am to 3pm Monday to Saturday and 9am to 3pm on a Sunday.
Thirsty and hungry customers will be admitted one at a time to the cafe and advance orders can be made by calling 01833 631779.
Adam Anderson and Lynn Flanagan, who run the Madhatter are hoping an increased footfall in the town as a result of the relaxation of rules where people can exercise will ensure a steady stream of customers, who will be served via a hatch.
