Barnard Castle venues combine for summer fun

SUMMER FUN: Julia Dunn

THREE of Barnard Castle’s top venues have teamed up to put on a programme of holiday club events for the summer.

TCR Hub, The Witham and The Bowes Museum will be hosting up to 40 activities across two weeks in August.

The activities are aimed at people aged between eight and 16, and offer a childcare solution for working families.

Sarah Gent of The Witham said: “These activities are all led by professionals with all the necessary security checks and adults are not required.”

Events include an outdoor week at The Hub with canoeing, high ropes, archery and other activities, and a variety of Lego-themed activity days at The Bowes Museum.

A highlight at The Witham is when youth theatre group The Turrets take over to present fun-packed days of drama games, singing and movement.

People who sign up to multiple bookings for events will enjoy discounted prices as will siblings.

Programme leaflets of the activities are available at all three of the venues and those wishing to make multiple bookings can contact The Bowes Museum on 01833 690606.
