Meet the squad carrying Barney’s hopes in national T20 final

IMPACT: Karl Carver has featured in all formats of the game for Barney

James Quinn (capt)

Resolutely calm in all situations, not afraid to take a gamble when necessary, opens in T20 and scores rapidly.
Josh Bousfield
Opens batting and bowling, spectacular fielder, former England U15 captain who has been essential component of success in last six years.
Samarth Seth
High class batsman from India who came to Barney in May. Has scored nearly 1,500 runs in all competitions and has been key to T20 progress. Is flying back from India for the match.
Richard Borrowdale
Mid-season knee injury threatened to derail his summer but he has returned and his booming hitting and smart slip catching have been as impressive as ever.
Karl Carver
Former Yorkshire left-arm spinner who has been prominent in all three disciplines. Model pro, usually keeps an end quiet and is returning to the club on a two-year contract.
Finn Usher
Teenage all-rounder, ex-Barney schoolboy, who has made important contributions with bat and ball and has advanced rapidly as a reliable performer.
Tom Merryweather
Left arm quick who can wreak havoc on his day and hits a long ball too. Slightly inconsistent but in a team of splendid fielders and catchers he shines bright.
James Clarkson
Dependable Wensleydale lad who joined Barney two seasons ago. Former NYSD player of the year when with Richmond, has settled perfectly into Barney dressing room.
Rob Dixon
Utterly trustworthy bowler, gets on with the job without fuss with nagging line and length, and also excellent in the field. Unsung hero of the team.
Ed Sabey (wk)
Since late summer return from university in Sheffield has been constantly excellent behind the stumps and demonstrated value of the position. Swift hands make life perpetually uncomfortable for batsmen.
Rob West
Has established a reputation for becoming a master of the lost cause. Bravura late order batting backed up by marvellous fielding and ability to take key wickets with his seam.
Owen Peddelty
Stoic batsman who has been wicketkeeper for large part of summer. Showed vast potential with half century against South Northumberland in National Cup.
Richard Watson
Yet another product of the club youth system, his leg spin can entangle opponents, his unobtrusively effective batting has been important.
Richard Stanwix
Second team captain added to the squad and can be relied on in case of emergency.
