Toddlers jump to it at weekly PE sessions

PE FUN: Hugh is happy to be put through his paces at Ingleton Primary School

CHILDREN as young as two from a dale toddler group are having fun while improving their co-ordination during weekly PE sessions.

The group, which meets every Friday at Ingleton Primary School, is provided with the sessions by professional sports coach Tom Morgan, who has been giving instruction to the older pupils for the past few years.

Julie Simpson, from the school, said: “We have done a toddler group for the past few years to boost numbers, so we thought we would start an informal session with the little ones.

“It has given them a lot of confidence.”

Mr Morgan added: “It is really interesting and fun watching them get new skills. Learning these fundamental movements give them a real start in life.”

The toddler group meets between 9.30am and 11.30am, with each week featuring a themed play, such as a bear hunt, based on story books.
