Strictly stars prepare to dazzle at charity ball

BIG NAMES: Former Strictly Come Dancing celebrities Vincent Simone and Ksenia Zsikhotska are to perform during a charity ball in Teesdale next month

TWO former Strictly Come Dancing stars are to perform at a charity ball in the dale next month.

The BBC hit show’s Vincent Simone and Ksenia Zsikhotska will be centre of attention during Butler and Gee Accountants’ charity ball in November.

The Barnard Castle firm has raised more than £77,000 for Cancer Research UK since the first ball was held in 2007.

Chris Butler, from the firm, said: “Because it is our tenth [charity ball], we wanted to celebrate in style and have something a bit different.

“We were strictly sold out in a week.

“They will do a meet-and-greet as the guests arrive.

“Then they will have the whole ballroom for their routine, so it will be quite special. It should be quite stunning really.

“The main thing is it is entertainment for all our guests. We are really grateful for their support.”

He also thanked John and Shona Harper-Wilkes, of Lartington Hall, for providing the venue for the ball.

A highlight is a charity auction which in the past has offered items such as luxury weekends away and opportunities to drive legendary supercars.

Last November the event raised £8,730 for the Teesdale branch of Cancer Research UK and the organisers are hoping to match or better that next month.
