New outdoor play kit is a hit with Ingleton pupils

GREAT FUN: Youngsters at Ingleton Primary School enjoy the new play equipment

NEW outdoor play facilities have been installed at a dale primary school thanks to a £2,000 grant from an organisation which promotes good health in young people.
Ingleton Primary School received the cash from the WPA Health Insurance company’s benevolent foundation.
The grant, along with part of the school’s sport premium money, has been spent on new kit such as a climbing wall, a set of fitness tyres and balance beams.
Business manager Julie Simpson said the equipment was needed after the school’s existing climbing frame was condemned when a safety inspection found the wooden posts were rotting.
She said she had been put in touch with WPA by nearby Gainford Primary School, which had also benefited from one of the company’s benevolent foundation grants. Ms Simpson said the new play area was suitable for all children, but also offered more of a challenge to the older key stage two pupils.
