A KURDISH barbers will donate takings to charity as a way of saying thank you for all the help it has received since setting up business.
Dara Omer, Kaywan Abdulah, Hardi Toueeq and Harem Mohamed set up their traditional Kurdish barbers shop, in Newgate, Barnard Castle, a year ago and have been so blown away by the welcome they have received from locals they are donating all their takings and tips from a day’s trading.
On Sunday, December 16, between 11am and 5pm they will be open for business offering shaves and haircuts
as usual, but all the money taken will be handed to The Clique, a charitable group based in Barnard Castle which organises fundraising events.
Mr Omer said: “When we first came here everyone was so nice.
“We wanted to be able to give something back and let everyone know how much we appreciate the help and acceptance.
“If we can help local causes we want to.”
