GP surgeries in Teesdale rated by patients

Gainford’s GP surgery is ranked the best in Teesdale according to a new patient survey.

Every single patient who responded to the National GP Surgery Survey described the surgery’s reception as helpful and they always got to see their preferred healthcare professional.

They also also described their overall experience as good.

Some 99 per cent of patients also said it was easy to contact the surgery by phone.

It was also the top ranked surgery in County Durham.

A spokesperson for the GP practice said: “We’re incredibly proud to announce that 100 per cent of our patients rated their overall experience at our practice as good.

“This achievement means so much to us and reflects our ongoing commitment to providing high-quality, compassionate care to our community.

“A huge thank you goes to our amazing team, whose dedication, professionalism and kindness make a difference every single day. Your hard work and commitment to delivering an outstanding service to our patients is truly appreciated.”

The practice also thanked patients for taking time complete the survey.

Woodview Medical practice, which has surgeries at Cockfield and Staindrop, and Evenwood Medical Practice also earned a 100 percent rating for the helpfulness of the reception and admin staff, but did not score as highly when it came to patients seeing their preferred healthcare professional. Woodview achieved 84 per cent and Evenwood 82 per cent.

The overall experience was good according to 95 per cent of Woodview patients and 93 per cent of Evenwood patients. .

Both surgeries scored highly for ease of contact by telephone with Woodview achieving 99 per cent and Evenwood 93 per cent.

Pinfold Medical Practice, in Butterknowle, achieved 93 per cent for reception helpfulness, 89 per cent for ease of contact by phone, and 67 per cent for seeing a preferred healthcare professional. It scored a 91 per cent rating for the overall experience.

Old Forge Surgery, in Middleton-in-Teesdale, received 92 per cent for ease of contact by phone, 93 per cent for helpfulness and 70 per cent for seeing a preferred medical professional. Some 90 per cent of patients rated the overall experience good.

Barnard Castle Surgery received 75 per cent for ease of contact by phone, 97 per cent for helpfulness and 67 per cent for seeing a preferred medical professional.

More than 80 per cent of patients rated their experience either very good or good.
