Furniture maker comes to aid of Barningham chuch

GOOD DEED: The artwork was taken down

A KIND-hearted businessman has come to the aid of a Teesdale church.
Furniture maker Anthony Nixon took on the job of removing a millennium artwork in St Mary’s Church, Barningham, and repairing the cabinet after it suffered water damage. He also reinstalled it.
Church member Ann Orton said: “They did this at no cost to the church as acknowledgement to the kindness shown to them by the late Sir Anthony Milbank when their business was based in Barningham. We are very grateful to them as it wasn’t an easy task and required four strong men to lift.”
The artwork was made by young and old people in Barningham and Newsham to depict village life. “Hopefully it will be around for many years to come for visitors to enjoy,” added Ms Orton.
