Colourful way of getting fit and helping good causes

GREAT TIMES: Pupils at Green Lane Primary School were covered in multi-coloured powder paint during a charity colour run

THERE was a splash of colour in Barnard Castle as youngsters took part in their own colour run.

Pupils and their parents at Green Lane Primary School were doused in coloured powder paint as they ran laps of the school field in aid of charity.

The chosen causes were Teesdale Cancer Research and Water Aid.

Year five girls Kate Harris, Phoebe Harris, Charlotte Leonard and Lara Brown initially came up with the idea of having a sports event in school for charity. Staff also helped to organise a “funky fun fit Friday” afternoon during which the whole school took part in a range of outdoor sports activities.

A charity bake sale earlier in the week also raised more than £100.
