Co-op staff serve up cash for Middleton in Bloom

FLOWER POWER: Middleton-in-Teesdale Co-op manager Tom Ridley presents cash to the village's in-bloom organisers Pam Phillips

MIDDLETON-in-Teeesdale’s efforts to win gold in this year’s Northumbria-in-Bloom competition has been given a cash boost.
The village’s Co-op teamed up with Middleton-in-Bloom to present a pick-a-flower board, a raffle and cake sale.
The cakes were made by Co-op staff as well as the competition organisers while raffle prizes were donated by Teesdale Hotel, Thorpe Farm Courtyard Restaurant and Total Balance Complementary Therapies.
Pam Phillips of Middleton-in-Bloom said: “All this, plus donations, raised £327.35. We love our community.”
She thanked the Co-op and the store staff for they way they support various groups in the village.
Spring judging has been postponed due to the virus.
