Children light up church service

Luca McMaho

ST MARY’S Church, in Cockfield, held a special Christingle service for the village primary school.

Parents, teachers and children sang their way through the service led by Revd Bryan Whitely. They were told about the history of the service and the importance of stopping over Christmas to reflect on the meaning of the season. Mr Whitely held a lollipop stop sign to make his point. Songs included Away in a Manger, Silent Night and We Three Kings. The Christingles were then lit and the lights dimmed.
