A sparkling Christmas

A sparkling Christmas

MORE than 50 trees decorated by Barney businesses, groups, schools and organisations lit up St Mary’s Parish Church last week.

The bi-annual Christmas Tree Festival, which raises funds for the church through donations, also sparkled with songs performed by Green Lane Primary School’s choir. They sang traditional Christmas favourites such as Silent Night and Ding Dong Merrily on High, aided by musician Annette Burrows.

Revd Canon Alec Harding said: “There are some wonderful trees – some based on books created by children like the Tiger Who Went to Tea, and even one by the toilet twinning group with angels made out of toilet paper.”
