Greetings from upper Teesdale help support farming charity

HAPPY TO HELP: Emma Spry

A CHARITY and community hub has launched two print-based ventures to boost its coffers.

The Utass (Upper Teesdale Agricultural Support Services) offices in Middleton-in-Teesdale are now home to a book-swap store and a new array of greetings cards.

Emma Spry, from the charity, said the book swap idea had come from Utass’ annual survey. Its new range of greetings cards has also been launched on the back of the charity’s calendar successes.

Mrs Spry added: “At Christmas it was suggested that some of the photographs

we’d had for the calendar were really emotive and would make fabulous greeting

cards.

“So as part of our 25th anniversary we have launched this new range.”

Complete with seven images of the upper dale, the cards are on sale at Utass’ offices, on Chapel Row.

Sponsors Alan Sykes, Lets Holiday Teesdale, Fresh Crafts and Interiors and Capstick Insurance have helped cover the printing costs.

Companies and shops to host the cards are still being sought.

To offer a spot for the charity’s range, call Utass on 01833 641010.
