Bob’s shock at industry award

Bob Bolden

A DALE resident was not expecting to receive an award when he attended an annual conference – but that’s just what has happened.

Bob Bolden, of Accrington Terrace, Evenwood, was presented with a long service award at a conference for the asphalt industry at Slaley Hall.

Mr Bolden (pictured) said he was “totally shocked” at receiving the award, which signifies his outstanding commitment to the industry over the past 46 years. He was presented with the award from the Institute of Asphalt Technology chairman Alan Ferguson. As well as a certificate Mr Bolden was presented with an engraved glass award.

“I was a little overwhelmed as this kind of award isn’t often given out, so I’ve joined a pretty exclusive club,” he said.
