Star baker Alice added to line-up

POPULAR: Bake Off finalist Alice Fevronia

FANS of the Great British Bake Off can meet one of 2019’s star bakers at Bishop Auckland Food Festival.

Alice Fevronia won over the judges and the public alike during her spell in the nation’s most famous tent and is looking forward to creating more brilliant bakes in the festival’s free cookery marquee.

Entry to the festival has always been free, but this is the first time visitors will be able to enjoy the cooking of celebrity chefs without buying a ticket.

The geography teacher made it all the way to the finals on the hit Channel 4 show and will be demonstrating some of her favourite recipes at the festival on the Saturday.

Alice said: “Having spent three years at university in Durham, I love County Durham and I am very much looking forward to spending some time there and experiencing what the food festival has to offer.”

Alice joins MasterChef co-presenter John Torode, Saturday Kitchen regular Joe Hurd and reigning MasterChef champion Irini Tzortzoglou plus fellow Bake Off star Jane Beedle, who will deliver a series of baking workshops for children and adults.
