Dale artists are picture perfect for new exhibition

ON DISPLAY: Jen Wyse

THREE dale artists are showing their work in a new exhibition – 12 months later than originally planned.
Ann Whitfield, Jen Wyse and Jane Young display their work collectively as ArtSeen and their latest collection is on show at The Witham gallery until Christmas.
Ms Whitfield said: “It’s two years ago since we last did this. We were due to come in to The Witham last December, but unfortunately we couldn’t.”
Ms Whitfield, who staged a solo exhibition of her work at the Bowlees Visitor Centre in the summer, is back with more local landscapes in ink and watercolour.
Ms Wyse, from Barnard Castle, has produced a number of new landscapes in a variety of different media, including oil pastels.
Whorlton-based Ms Young has recently celebrated completing her MA in Fine Art at Sunderland University.
She said: “One of the more surprising things to come out of the Covid-19 pandemic has been a sharper awareness of, and respect for, the natural world.
“I hope that the work I create will help ensure this appreciation does not disappear as soon as the world gets back to normal.”
Admission to the exhibition is free during centre opening hours – 10am to 4pm Wednesday to Saturday.
