Mortimer and Whitehouse: Gone Fishing filming in upper dale

Popular BBC programme Mortimer and Whitehouse: Gone Fishing was filming in the upper dale today.

The angling duo were spotted by local photographer Nick Coggins who had gone to see how much water there was at High Force after recent rains.

He said: “I saw something going on and wasn’t sure what it was.

“I asked and they said it was Mortimer and Whitehouse.”

He waited until Bob Mortimer and Paul Whitehouse had a break in filming to ask if they would mind if he took a quick photo of the pair. They obliged.

Nick said: “They were very pleasant. They were working so I didn’t want to interfere.”

Nick said a crew of about 15 were on site including cameramen, a soundperson, director, assistant director, and drones.

However, the two anglers were not fishing at High Force.

The photographer said: “I spoke to the director, and he said they had been fishing further upstream earlier.”
