Young Barnard castle RUFC players ready for action in new kit

NEW KIT: The U9s

Junior rugby

YOUNGSTERS proudly showed off their new strips on Sunday as four of Barnard Castle RUFC’s youth teams took to the pitches on the upper Demesnes.

Andy Howard, chairman of the youth academy, said the strips were new for the season and he was delighted for the support of sponsors Clarendon’s, Period House Store and Botham Wines who have helped pay for the kits for the U7s, U8s and U9s.

Sponsorship from the Stephen Mitchell Memorial Fund and Frank’s Factory Flooring mean the U10s and U11s have also been kitted out.

Mr Howard said: “It’s a great thing this season we have been able to get new kit for the junior members thanks to the sponsorship of Claire Dixon, at Clarendon’s, Andrew Harburn at the Period House Store and Sir Ian and Lady Botham, at Botham Wines.

“We are really grateful for this and they have our many thanks for being so supportive.”
