Trio tackle D-Day anniversary trail marathon

Athletics

ON Saturday, June 8, Teesdale AC was represented by Mandy Harrison, Janet Stables and Trudy Layton at Operation Overlord D-Day Landing 75th Anniversary Run at Druridge Bay Country Park.

It was raining and windy and yet the beach section of four miles still looked spectacular.

All three members ran together in their first half marathon trail and finished in a time of 3.05.00 hours.

Trudy Layton said it was the best medal they had ever received.

Also, there was much information regarding the D-Day landing along the route of the run for the runners to respect and digest along the way.

They described it as a lovely event presented by Saturn Running.
