Town’s bowls club prepares for resumption of play

A CUT ABOVE: Angus Dowson was giving the green at Barnard Castle Bowls Club its first cut of the year last week in preparation for the resumption of action

PREPARATIONS are in hand for the return of bowls to Barnard Castle this coming week.
The green, in the grounds of The Bowes Museum, will be open from Monday, April 12, for casual play, which must be booked in advance.
Sessions will be from 10am to noon and 2pm to 4pm, following Bowls England guidelines.
It is hoped to start Saturday afternoon sessions for competitions after May 17 when Covid restrictions are due to be further relaxed.
Discussions are continuing as to how the club can play in the Darlington and District League.
If anyone is interested in taking up Bowls they can contact the club’s secretary June Parkin on 01833 631900 or email [email protected] for further details.
