YOUNGSTERS at Teesdale Tiger Sharks looked back on their achievements of 2021 at the club gala – but are looking forward to what the can achieve in the coming year.
Having returned after a well-earned Christmas rest, they have begun training in preparation for the Sunderland Gala later in January.
After an incredibly successful Sheffield gala where one young swimmer improved her 100m breaststroke by nine seconds and her 50m breaststroke by two seconds, an atmosphere of anticipation and excitement is driving the Tiger Sharks to next finish lines.
In addition, the swimmers enjoyed an incredibly positive club gala which saw them compete against each other, ending with a social event which saw Teddy, Kayla, Olivia, Thea and Wojciech awarded coaches awards for commitment and achievements.
This was an opportunity for the team to practise in some friendly competition but also enjoy a more fun and less pressurised environment to perform in.
There was a real sense of increased team morale and support during this event which embodied the club’s new motto of “Enjoy, Excel, Compete” .
Committee members and coaches were proud of the team and are hopeful that 2022 will see new achievements made.
