Sponsorship helps junior footballers face up to Covid measures

WE'VE GOT IT COVERED: Players and coaches from two of Barnard Castle Junior Football Club model the new snoods

Junior football
THE current lockdown may have put paid to any action on the pitch, but when games resume, youngsters at Barnard Castle Junior Football Club will be well prepared.
The club received funds from Banks Property to buy quality snoods from My Sportswear in Darlington.
Club secretary Catherine Spence said: “They will serve the dual purpose of keeping players and coaches warm and ensuring they are complying with Covid-19 safety measures around face coverings.”
She added: “It’s great to see a local employer giving back to communities, particularly in these Covid disrupted times.”
In the summer, the junior football club entered into an agreement with Bowes FC which it is hoped will eventually lead to a merger and offer young footballers the chance to progress through the junior age groups and into senior football ranks.
