HOT SHOT: Doug Mclean was the high gun of the day

Shooting
TEESDALE Gun Club held its annual fundraising shoot in aid of the Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS).
There was six different competitions for members and visitors, with trophies presented for the main categories.
There was a very strong wind on the day, but this didn’t perturb a strong turnout. Despite the conditions, scoring was high.
The overall high gun for the day was Doug Maclean.
John Laverick won the single barrel 25 target DTL hitting an impressive 20 targets out of 25 and Steve Corner won the 25 target open competition hitting all 25 targets for a score of 70.
All trophies was presented by the club’s treasurer Ted McFarlane.
The club will be donating £236 to the GNAAS and a further £50 to the Newbigging Village Hall.

The club is extremely thankful to the local businesses in Middleton-in-Teesdale, Barnard Castle and to their members for donating so many gifts to the raffle that was held on the day to assist with the fundraising.
