Gillian romps home in season’s first competition

GRACEFUL VICTORY: Gillian Harle won the final of the Farrier Singles against Colin Watson

BOWLS

TWENTY members took part in the first competition of the season in cool but bright conditions, playing in two groups in a round robin format.

Everyone played five games with ten points available and it’s fair to say everyone was in with a chance, but of course only two can make it to the final. From group one after a two year absence Colin Watson led the field with nine points while Gillian Harle romped home ahead of the group two pack with 10 points.

If I said the final was close I’d be stretching the truth as Gillian showed no mercy needing only three of the four ends to take the title 6-0. JT
