Friendly but fierce end to season

WINNING SMILES: The Lady President's bowls team which was victorious in the end of season friendly against the President's team

Bowls

The season was rounded off with the traditional Lady President’s team versus The President’s team which are picked from all the members who turn up to play. This is always a fiercely contested yet friendly game played out over 18 ends.

Someone said it’s not the winning that matters but the taking part (whoever said that hasn’t played bowls against Gillian Harle).

Anyway the scores have to be made public and on this occasion the Lady President’s team, led by Gillian, won by a slight margin with the President John Tallentire magnanimous in defeat.
