Ex-Sunderland star to coach Teesdale kids

FORMER Sunderland AFC professional player Julio Arca and coach Jon King are presenting courses for young footballers in Teesdale in the coming holidays.

This is the last time the pair will be presenting the Sports

King courses in the area, which proved popular with youngsters in previous years.

The first course at Teesdale Leisure Centre gets underway on February 20, between 9.30am and 3pm, and includes supervised coaching.

Mr King said: “Sessions will be based on fun and enjoyment, consisting of technical work, fun, games, skills competitions and small-sided games.”

Children should arrive in the their playing kit, shin pads and footwear suitable for all types of weather. Coaching takes place outdoors, but will move indoors in the event of bad weather.

The second round of coaching sessions will take place on Wednesday, April 17, and Thursday, April 18, also at Teesdale Leisure Centre. Parents must text child’s name age and quote Teesdale to 07795024333 to register.
