Barnard castle Golf Club
THE club has begun the search for a new professional following Martyn Stubbings’ decision to take up an offer from Seaton Carew.
Traditionally regarded as the top club in Durham, the Seaton Carew links has staged several national events and the professional job is considered a highly prestigious position.
In thanking him for his “exceptional services”, a club statement said: “Martyn has achieved the objectives he set for Barnard Castle and is ready to take on a new challenge.
“His dedication is shown in the increased membership, visiting parties and golf days.”
The statement added that he was helping to find his successor and would stay long enough to ensure a smooth transition.
Ian Graham continues his fine form in the winter leagues.
After going round in two under par to record a bogey score of plus nine a fortnight earlier, he finished third with plus three on Sunday.
Saturday’s event was cancelled.
